What South Park provides for its students is a three-fold purpose and model to equip them
beyond their middle and high-school years.
Calling
"O God, You have taught me from my youth, and I still declare Your wondrous deeds. And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Yor strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come." Psalm 71:17-18
As given in Scripture, we clearly see the need for models and mentors for addressing youth in their spiritual development. We at South Park Baptist Church have provided these tools to assist your kids in their journey in fulfilling their given calling.
Community
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).
As we look outside our church walls, their is an abundance of kids longing to find community. At South Park, our aim is to create a space of belonging for these kids to feel accepted and noticed. South Park Baptist Church exists to encourage and yet, challenge them in all the right ways.
Commission
Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:18-20).
Our youth at South Park will inherently know and confirm that this is the commission given by God beyond the church walls. Our student's mission should align with this very principle Jesus spoke of here in the concluding remarks in Mathew.
This three-fold model was purposely designed to let you as a parent know that we have specifically created Gospel-centered teaching in our services throughout the week! While focusing on these core values, the realistic expectation for us is to simply exhort and challenge the modern student's mindset with a Christian mindset of teaching.
